City-builder Jane Farrow joins MASS LBPNews
In 2013 Spacing magazine declared Jane one of ten people they love. We can't help but agree, and we're delighted to welcome this city-building champ, former CBC broadcaster and the founder of Jane's Walk as our new director of participation and learning.
Jane is a passionate Torontonian and has immersed herself in municipal affairs as a city hall staffer, public facilitator and recent council candidate. Between 2007-2011, she was the first executive director of Jane's Walk which celebrates the legacy of urbanist Jane Jacobs’ ideas around walkable, livable and connected cities. In five years Jane guided this event from one of great local promise in 2007 to a global phenomenon offered in over 75 cities in 15 countries around the world.
As the director of participation and learning, Jane will lead MASS LBP's urban practice and contribute to its wide array of projects focused on pro-active community planning and engagement. Jane brings a deep understanding of the mechanics of city building and decision-making deriving from a broad set of experiences – community advocate, researcher, facilitator, advisor and Executive Assistant to City Councillor.
